Portable light set up

Setting up portable lights
In this mini task we set up a portable light for a small studio type effect in any location.
Step one for setting up the lights is to open up the stand and make sure its secure and wont tumble over.
Step two is to fit the light on the top and make sure it is in correctly then screw the pole in.
Step three, now that the light head is fully fitted you may change it to a spotlight such as snoot for example.
Step four, make sure you fit the cables into the light correctly from either a mains socket or a battery to power it depending on your objective and location.
step five, you can fit an umbrella into the designated side holes of the light, there is also a holder that you can screw to keep it held in tight so it doesn't wobble or fall out.
Step six, the light is now complete and all you will have to do is turn the switch on at the wall or battery.
The portable light is now set up.

Proposal

Proposal

My aim in this assignment is to create 3 main advertisement posters which will be in the categories of the following 3 topics:
  1. Beauty
  2. Clothing
  3. Food
I plan to create a lip stick advertisement for my 'beauty' project, this will involve portraiture and I may use colour splash in the style of sin city but I am still not too sure. The lipstick will be a dark red so I may also decide on a vibrantly lit background to complement the facial features and make the lips stand out powerfully.

Secondly, I plan on creating an 'Old school' smart fashion or Tailor franchise for clothing. This means that my model(s) will be in a suit or smart shirt for this project. I want to create something that will relate to young adults, that is trend worthy and aesthetic.

Thirdly and finally, For food I plan to show a more aesthetic look on certain types. Although my idea's on this topic are still unfinished, what I think I will do is a desert piece maybe on brownies and cakes.

These 3 topics are what I have chosen and will produce for my deadline.

Introduction

Introduction

In this assignment I aim to develop knowledge and skills in the studio techniques and studio requirements associated with specialist types of studio photography. It aims to enable the development of ideas with reference to published examples of professional specialist studio photography. This assignment also aims to enable the development of my skills and understanding of the design process and my skills in applying this in the creation of art and design work.

Commercial photography means to take photographs that will have a commercial use, or where the photographer is paid for their photographs.  It is mostly associated with advertising, product placement and merchandising where the images sell a product or promote a business. However photojournalism, editorial, wedding, fashion and landscape photography can all fall under the mode of commercial photography.

I will be choosing 3 topics and creating 1 image for each of them.
These are the topic choices:
  1. Beauty
  2. Clothing
  3. Food
  4. Health and Wellbeing
  5. Jewellery
  6. Sport
  7. Technology
  8. Transport

the topics that I will be focusing on and have chosen are as follows:
  1. Beauty
  2. Clothing

Ad research images

'Palmers stockings' this is a great example of advertisement that you would find in magazines.
The old style 70's vibe that the colours and 'Playboy bunny' scene creates a clear understanding of what its all about and the stockings being worn/shown to create the playboy bunny ears for the special tribute to Hugh Hefner.
Simple style and very effective.
